"The Bible..."
What a privilege it is to have the freedom to read and own the Word of God! My life we be so different without the Bible to guide and direct me through out life's journey. The Word of God has the answers to all of lives questions and problems, if not directly then in principles. Therefore why do we need the counsel of the ungodly, truthfully we don't!!! The older I get and the more I strive to study the Bible the more I realize that if only we would all take heed to the things written in it our lives could be so much more simple. If only the world knew the joy it brings to ones life to know the Author of this wonderful book, where would we all be! Getting a little narrower, I as a Christian do not believe the idea that all the so called "Bibles" are the same or just "Updated." Recently as I've been taking some college courses at home, I was required to read a book entitle "Things That Are Different Are Not The Same." It was a wonderful book that I would encourage all to read. It clearly explains that all Bibles are not equal. It proves that "Bibles" that have been said to be "easier to understand" have actually changed or even removed whole portions of scripture. The Bible clearly states in Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away His part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." I don't understand what excuses people can make for doing exactly what these verses say not to do. I would not want to be in these peoples shoes when they stand before God one day. The Bible is the greatest treasure that I own, I will always be grateful to have a copy of the original 1611 King James Version!!!
